Deep-cycle flooded lead acid (FLA) batteries are an economical way to store a lot of power. They don't
need a lot of maintenance - just make sure you don't overcharge them, and use a proper maintainer.
But they're heavy, and only have about 350 cycles of lifetime.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LIFEPO4) is getting quite popular too - it's got a much higher cycle count (2000-8000)
compared to FLAs and is usually 1/3 the weight, but they're slightly larger (lower energy density) and 4x the
cost. They're the way to go if you need to reduce weight, like for super portable power needs. They don't
weigh down a bicycle as much, and are A LOT easier to carry around at Field Day or emergency events.

Also, most of today's LIFEPO4 batteries have a built-in control board to handle cell balancing, as well as
protect against over-charge and deep-discharge. They will require a different charger too, as their voltage
is slightly higher. This also can complicate things if you need to connect to someone else's power grid and
they're using FLA. You also can't charge lithium batteries if they're very cold.
